1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Claros — Daily Wisdom (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Claros ("we," "our," or "us"). You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
2. Description of Service
Claros is a daily wisdom application that delivers principles extracted from books, along with educational context, practical examples, and reflective tools. The App provides:
- Daily delivery of one or more axioms (principles) derived from published books
- Educational breakdowns including scientific context, real-world examples, and failure modes
- Personal library features including archive, favourites, and folders
- Streak tracking, milestone recognition, and themed visual experiences
- Links to purchase books via affiliate programs
The App is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind, including medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.
3. Accounts and Registration
You may use the App anonymously without creating an account, or you may sign in using Google or Apple authentication. When you sign in:
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You agree to provide accurate information to your authentication provider
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
Anonymous users: your data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the App permanently deletes all local data. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from App deletion by anonymous users.
To request deletion of your account and associated data, email support@clarosdaily.com with the subject "Delete My Account." We will process your request within 30 days.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Pro Subscription
Claros offers a paid "Pro" subscription with the following terms:
- Annual plan: $29.99 USD per year, billed annually
- Monthly plan: $4.99 USD per month, billed monthly
- Prices are subject to change with notice
- All prices are exclusive of taxes where applicable
Billing
Subscriptions are billed through Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). All payment processing is handled by those platforms. We do not store payment information. You are subject to their respective billing terms.
Renewals and Cancellation
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. To cancel:
- Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → Claros → Cancel
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Claros → Cancel
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period, except where required by applicable law.
Refunds
Refund requests must be submitted through Google Play or the Apple App Store in accordance with their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will provide at least 30 days notice before any price change takes effect for existing subscribers.
5. Free Tier
The free tier of Claros provides access to one axiom per day from T1 (SELF) categories, a 3-day archive, and basic features. The free tier includes advertising delivered via Google AdMob.
We reserve the right to modify the features included in the free tier at any time, with reasonable notice where practicable.
6. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
- Use automated tools to access, scrape, or download content from the App
- Share, sell, or transfer your subscription or account credentials to others
- Submit false, misleading, or harmful content via feedback or bug report features
- Attempt to circumvent any subscription verification or content gating mechanisms
7. Content and Intellectual Property
Our Content
All content in the App — including axioms, explanations, editorial notes, category images, themes, animations, and the Claros brand — is owned by or licensed to Claros and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Axiom content is original editorial work created by the Claros team. While we draw inspiration and ideas from published books, our axioms, breakdowns, and Oracle's Questions are our original expression and are not reproductions of copyrighted text.
Your Content
Content you create within the App — including marginal notes (Living Marginalia), "Axiom Came True" entries, and folder names — remains yours. You grant us a limited license to store and display this content within your account solely for the purpose of providing the App's functionality.
We do not use your personal notes or entries for any purpose other than displaying them to you within the App.
Book References
The App references published books and links to purchase them via affiliate programs. Book titles, authors, and cover images referenced in the App are the property of their respective owners. Our references constitute fair use for informational and educational purposes.
8. Affiliate Links and Advertising
Amazon Associates
Claros participates in the Amazon Associates Program and earns commissions on qualifying purchases made through links in the App. These links are clearly presented as book purchase links. The commission does not affect the price you pay.
Audible
The App includes links to Audible, an Amazon company, through an affiliate program. We earn a commission on qualifying Audible sign-ups.
Google AdMob
Free-tier users see advertising delivered by Google AdMob. Pro subscribers do not see ads. AdMob may use device identifiers to display personalized ads subject to Google's advertising policies. You may opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.
Disclosure
In compliance with applicable advertising disclosure requirements, the App displays clear affiliate disclosures where required. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content or axiom selection.
9. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Any defects will be corrected
- The content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose
- Results of using the App will meet your expectations
The principles and content in the App are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for medical, legal, financial, or mental health decisions.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CLAROS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10 USD, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any reason we deem appropriate, with or without notice.
You may terminate your use of the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Cancellation of a paid subscription must be done through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) shall survive.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Claros is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration where permitted by applicable law, or through courts of competent jurisdiction.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, through in-app notification.
Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App.
