1. Overview

Claros ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Claros — Daily Wisdom mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

We are committed to operating with minimal data collection. We do not sell your personal information. We do not display third-party advertising beyond what is disclosed below.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from those providers.
  • Anonymous accounts: If you use the "Enter" option without signing in, we create an anonymous account with no personal identifiers.
  • Feedback and bug reports: Text content you submit through our in-app feedback and bug reporting features.
  • Screenshots: If you voluntarily attach a screenshot to a bug report, that image is stored securely.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: App version, device operating system, streak count, axiom count, account age, and subscription status (free or Pro).
  • Local data: Your archive, favourites, and folder preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data does not leave your device unless you sign in and trigger a sync.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Your location
  • Your contacts or address book
  • Your browsing history outside the App
  • Financial information (payments are processed entirely by Google Play or Apple — we never see your card details)
  • Biometric data of any kind

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App
  • Authenticate your identity and maintain your account
  • Process subscription status via RevenueCat
  • Respond to support requests and feedback
  • Diagnose technical issues using anonymized metadata attached to bug reports
  • Display relevant advertising via Google AdMob (free tier only — see Third-Party Services)
  • Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the product

We do not use your information to build profiles for advertising purposes, sell your data, or make automated decisions that affect your access to the App.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers

  • Google Firebase: Authentication and database services. Data processed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management. RevenueCat processes subscription status; we share only your Firebase user ID with RevenueCat.
  • Google AdMob: Advertising for free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers to display contextual ads. You can opt out through your device's advertising settings.
  • Amazon Associates: Affiliate links for book purchases. We do not share personal data with Amazon; these are standard web links.
  • Audible Affiliate: Same as Amazon Associates above.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal processes, such as a court order or government investigation.

Business Transfers

If Claros is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services.

If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Local data stored on your device (archive, favourites, folders) remains under your control and can be removed by uninstalling the App.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Firebase security rules restricting data access to authenticated users
  • No storage of payment information on our servers

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@clarosdaily.com and we will delete that information.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data.
  • Objection: Object to certain uses of your information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@clarosdaily.com. We will respond within 30 days.

To delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@clarosdaily.com with the subject line "Delete My Account." We will process your request within 30 days.

9. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

  • Google Firebase — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • Google AdMob — policies.google.com/privacy
  • RevenueCat — revenuecat.com/privacy
  • Amazon Associates — Amazon Privacy Notice

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, by providing additional notice such as an in-app notification.

Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
